Fillers |
Fillers, as the name implies, fill in for the concerned deficit by adding volume, and thus correct the deficit. The commonest areas of concern requested to be rectified in our practice are wrinkles in nasolabial folds, flat cheek(following pimple/acne scars in young and with ageing changes later on), under-eye hollowing and thin lips and facial asymmetry(one half of face being leaner than the other)
We offer both temporary and permanent fillers as treatment options to our clients. |
Candidacy: |
- Nasolabial folds
- Lip Augmentation

Temporary Fillers |
The permanent filler can be Natural and Synthetic. However, we only offer the Natural option. The natural fillers are of 2 types:
(1) Fat graft
(2) Our preferred filler material is Autologous(one’s own) fat and ADSC. |
|
The advantage of a Temporary Filler is that 1. The result is instant. 2. There is no down time, as there is minimal swelling after the procedure. 3. Procedure time is less than 30 min including planning, so is truly a lunch time procedure. 4. if one does not desire a particular feature change in the long term, it will automatically gradually revert to original in the chosen time span. 5. It is safe
Its disadvantages are
1. They are temporary
2. For a larger volume requirement they increase the cost.

Permanent Fillers |
|
These again are Natural and Synthetic. However, we only offer the Natural option. Our preferred filler material is Autologous(one’s own) fat. The fat is harvested(taken) from an innocuous part of the body(inner knee, thigh, flank, etc) as per discussion with the patient, it is processed(purified) and then reinjected into the desired areas of need.
Common areas filled are – Nasolabial lines, under-eye hollows, flat cheek(post acne scar hollowing), thin lips, and facial asymmetry(one half of face being leaner than the other)

The Advantage is that 1. The result is permanent 2. The source is ones own body-so no issues with safety. 3. It is available in abundance, hence when a larger volume of filler is required, this is a very cost effective option 4. Adding stem cells to the fat has enhanced the survival ratio of the fat cells and is also probably improving the overlying skin quality. 5. It is done under local anaesthesia.
The disadvantages of fat as a filler is 1. A proportion of the injected fat is re-absorbed after injection, over the first 2-3 weeks. Thus the final result is only seen at the end of 3 weeks. 2. As the amount of fat which is re-absorbed cannot be accurately predicted, in some cases a second touch-up procedure may be required. 3. There is some swelling of the injected area for 2-5 days, depending on the voulume and the part of face injected. 4. Time taken for procedure is longer than a synthetic filler, as this involves fat harvesting, preparation and then injection-1 to 2 hours with a break in-between for fat preparation.
Since we have begun using fat graft admixed with stem cells(ADSC) over the last 6 months, the predictive value of fat survival has significantly improved, and, as is documented elsewhere too, the quality of facial skin also improves. |
